Jen Madden is an Irish visual artist and creative educator based in the Blackdown Hills, South West UK. She holds a B.A. in Fine Art Painting from Limerick School of Art & Design and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Art and Design from the University of Reading.

Originally from Dublin, Jen has lived in multiple countries over the past decade, using her studio practice as a way of connecting with her surroundings. She draws inspiration from her environment and everyday experiences, creating work that explores familiar moments through drawing, painting, mixed media and textiles.

In 2025, Jen completed a daily drawing project as a visual diary, documenting everyday moments, objects and places she encountered. The full collection will be exhibited in October 2026.

In 2026, Jen has been exploring the relationship between data and art through her running and swimming. After previously translating data from her Strava swim training into a series of swimming pool paintings, she is now running 10km every day for 100 days and transforming each route into an abstract artwork through stitching. The work celebrates the everyday effort and training that happens behind the scenes, turning otherwise meaningless digital data into something physical and personal.

Jen is also the founder of Drawing Club, a monthly art mail club with members across 52 countries, and the author of You Can Draw This, a practical drawing book published by Hachette UK in August 2026.

Alongside her own practice, Jen has collaborated with brands including Tesco, Olay, Kimpton Fitzroy London and Painta, creating artwork, content and creative experiences.

Jen works across her studio practice, Drawing Club, workshops and creative projects, with a focus on making art accessible and encouraging people to find their own way into creativity.
